I started listening to the first hp book and I ran across something I guess I had forgotten about, or never noticed.

Right after the sorting hat and when dumbledoor gets up to speak, he says I would like to say a few words.
It sounds like, nitwhitt, blubber, audmin tweek.

Does this mean anything? I don't remember it coming up anywhere else.

I'm not one to slice and dice the book but thought it was interesting.

Hmmm! No, it doesn't mean anything really. That's just Dumbledore's true colours coming out, but Harry remembers it, er, let's just say, a few years later.

I don't remember either.

It's Nitwit, blubber, odment, tweak. And it's exactly what he says. A few words. What's to understand?

Post 6 by Texas Shawn (The cute, cuddley, little furr ball) on Wednesday, 29-Nov-2006 11:13:28

who knows. lol. I just didn't remember it and I didn't know if it tied in to something else.

I've read the books several times and not once have I seen it come up again. I think it was random Dumbeldore.

Post 8 by OrangeDolphinSpirit (Despite the cost of living, have you noticed how popular it remains?) on Thursday, 30-Nov-2006 13:32:53

Yup, it was just Dumbledore being random. Hehehehe.

Post 9 by yankee g wolverine (Account disabled) on Thursday, 30-Nov-2006 15:32:24

it comes up in book 6, during dumbledores funeral. BTW, those of you that didn't know he was dead, well, not my problem.
harry remembers those words as a wizzard goes on and on about dumbledore, but not really saying anything important.

Post 10 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Thursday, 30-Nov-2006 16:09:18

It was Dumbledore being random yes, but read HBP chapter 30 again. Harryps sitting by the lake at Dumbledore's funeral, and he remembers Dumbledore's idea of a few words, nitwit, blubber, odment, tweek.

as I just said...was there any point of repeating that?

Post 12 by Jeff (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Saturday, 03-Feb-2007 15:08:19

I reckon their right, it is just D being random. However there is another view. Go to http://www.wizardingworld.com/hpsleuth.shtml and look around. There's another theory on those very words, grin.

before I read the 7th book I am going to read them all again. I personally though do not remember it being said in the first book but do remember it in the 6th.

Never mind that little part. As someone who posted earlier so rightly said, what is there to question? Actually, I made a connection of my own. First of all, do any of you remember Dumbledore telling Harry that one of the Horcurxes is Salazar Slytherin's locket? Dumbledore took Harry in to the Pensieve and showed him Hoakey the house elf's memory. Go back to that part and read carefully through the locket's description. Then, right when you finish reading about the locket, go back to book five and read during chapter six, where everyone is cleaning the house. They find a locket that no one can open. ... Could that be? ...

It could be, but we don't know who RAB is, so that is really posible, but I don't think that we have enough information either way. as for theose words Dumbledor says that in the first book, but that's the last time that he says it himself, but Harry remembers what a few words ment to Dumbledor, so I don't think it is important, because we don't here the school song any time after the first book.

Who else do we know with the initials R. A. B? I for one think those belong to none other than Regulus Black. Of course, we don't know what his middle name is. Don't forget about the note in the fake locket. Part of it said, "I will be dead long before you read this, ... I have stolen the real Horcrux and intend to destroy it as soon as I can."

Lol ok, so the posts on this board got a little out of order. We were talking about the words Dumbledore spoke... His idea of a few words. Then we move onto something different, but here's my two cents. I never thought that it might be possible that if no one could open that locket, it might stand to reason that if Harry remembers those words its because Dumbledore wanted him to do so. What if those are the words that need to be spoken to open that locket? Hmm, just a question. Come on pile on the..... Insults, if I deserve any. Lmfao.

Post 22 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Monday, 16-Apr-2007 11:16:26

intriguing ... I don't know.

Post 23 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Monday, 16-Apr-2007 11:26:42

Hmmm... Very interesting, then why, if those were actually the words to open the enchanted locket, would Dumbledore announce it to everyone at Hogwarts School sat in front of him at the four house tables and the teachers, table in the great hall? Why doesn't he get Harry on his own during one of their chats or Voldemort lessons in his office and tell him the words to open the locket in private? I don't think we'll know till we've read and re-read book 7.

Post 24 by Texas Shawn (The cute, cuddley, little furr ball) on Monday, 16-Apr-2007 13:44:32

well, on book seven, I really, really really hope it doesn't suck! that will be a real pisser if it does!

Post 25 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Monday, 16-Apr-2007 23:53:16

Have a box of tissues near you when reading. There's supposed to be more than one death.

The few words might be either Greek, latin, or italian.

I don't know any, since I am learning Spanish, and they are definitely not Spanish.
Perhaps it means Welcome?
